A man attended a little league baseball game one afternoon. He asked a boy in the dugout what the score was. The boy responded, “we’re down eighteen to nothing.” The spectator said, “I’ll bet you’re discouraged.”
The little boy replied, ”Why should I be discouraged?” “We haven’t even gotten up to bat yet!”
A lot of us were like that when we were younger- filled with hope. But disappointments, discouragements, overwhelming problems and even our own personal failures have a way of robbing us of hope. As we celebrate Christmas, we need to hear the truth that Jesus came to bring you Dependable Hope.
This is the first message in our Advent Series, “Ready for Christmas.” Just as you are preparing your home by shopping, decorating and planning, let us help you prepare your heart with practical applications of familiar Christmas stories. This is a great series for inviting friends and family to learn about Jesus.
See you in Church,
